Measure the assembled front, not only the dieline
Assemble a production-style carton and mark the portion that stays flat when the lid opens. Keep the front label away from the fold, locking tab and side seam. The illustrative box shows its label on one broad panel while the open version still exposes three balls. If your carton uses a window or an insert, measure those parts with the carton assembled.
A label that bridges the opening flap becomes a closure component. That may be a valid separate brief, but it needs its own material, placement and opening test. I would not ask a decorative front label to act as a seal accidentally.
Make the contents count unambiguous
The front should say “Wool Dryer Balls” and “3 Pack” clearly. A three-circle icon can help, yet quantity remains a text field that must match the actual pack. Keep any real composition, care or market wording in the approved artwork; the generated image is not a compliance label.
If a brand sells two-, three- and six-packs, use one visual system and a prominent controlled count field. The warehouse should not have to infer the quantity from box depth or tiny file names. Our dryer-sheet carton guide
Proof on the chosen board
Kraft colour, texture and coating change how a label appears. Avery Dennison's cardboard-label guidance
Check the label edge after cartons are folded, stacked and handled in your intended packing sequence. If the board is dusty or textured, tell the printer before material selection. A screen proof cannot reveal how a teal field prints next to warm kraft.
Send the packer a usable handoff
Provide the flat dieline, a closed sample, board finish, label position, exact pack count, approved artwork, version quantities and hand- or machine-application details. Ask for a printed sample on the box, then verify opening and stacking.
I would prioritise a flat, repeatable placement over a label that wraps a corner for visual drama. The customer sees a whole pack; the packer needs to make that result consistently.
