Make the finished pouch the measuring tool
Use a filled or production-equivalent sachet to identify the top heat seal, side seals and bottom gusset. A pressure-sensitive label belongs on the stable central face, not across a thick seal where the edge can lift or wrinkle. The picture deliberately leaves silver foil visible around the separate applied label.
If the sachet will be packed before labelling, note whether the face stays flat after filling. A label sized only from the empty flat film may distort once powder occupies the pouch. Avery Dennison's flexible-packaging guidance
Let product identity beat the water graphic
“Washing Machine Cleaner” and “Powder Sachet” should be readable before the decorative drum and waterline. The front can signal the format, while approved use directions, content declarations and any market-specific caution belong in a legible information area supplied by the responsible brand team.
Do not copy the layout of a liquid detergent bottle onto a small foil sachet. A sachet may need a separate back label or printed back panel. Our laundry powder carton guide
Proof on the final foil surface
Foil laminates can vary in surface finish and in how they crease after filling. Ask for a printed, applied sample on the actual sachet and inspect the label edge after the pouch is handled as it will be during packing and shipping. If the fill process leaves dust on the face, explain when and how the surface is cleaned.
I would compare the flat proof with a handled pouch. The first catches wrong copy; the second catches a label that looks fine until a crease runs through its headline. Do not describe the sample as a passed chemical or moisture test unless the test was actually performed.
Brief the label and the pouch together
Send finished pouch dimensions, seal widths, gusset depth, laminate type, label placement, approved front and back copy, quantity per artwork and application method. For roll application, include unwind, core and gap. Request a digital proof plus a labelled filled-pack sample.
The cheapest label size is not useful if it enters the heat-seal margin. I would decide the safe panel first, then work the visual system inside it.
