Start at the cap line
The label should sit on the straight barrel below the cap joint, leaving the cap free to open and close. Measure the usable circumference and length on the assembled pen, including any taper near the base. A wrap that reaches the cap can tear or obscure the first line when the cap is fitted.
Avery Dennison's small-diameter portfolio includes eyeliner among its cosmetic examples. That supports considering a small-diameter construction, not choosing one without testing this exact barrel.
Put the shade in a repeatable position
The invented label uses JET 01 beneath the eye-line icon. A real range may have more colours, tip types or finish versions. List approved names, codes, quantities and artwork filenames in one matrix, then proof every variant. The stockroom should not have to infer shade from the decorative copper sweep.
I would compare one applied pen from each version side by side. If the key difference disappears as soon as the pens are packed together, enlarge the code or move it into the visible front area. This is a different decision from the lipstick base sticker, where the shade is intentionally on a flat bottom.
Test the seam and touch points
On a tight cylinder, the vertical seam can become the first failure point. Ask for an applied sample and check it after the handling expected during filling, capping and packing. Keep tiny type away from the overlap and avoid putting a critical character where a finger naturally covers it.
The label photo looks smooth, but it cannot verify adhesive or abrasion performance. The chosen film, finish and adhesive should be evaluated on the actual component. A decorative metallic look is secondary to a readable product name and an edge that stays flat.
Send a brief that lets the supplier quote correctly
Provide an empty assembled pen, measured barrel diameter and straight length, cap clearance, approved copy, number of shades, quantity per shade and application method. For roll application, add core, gap and unwind direction. Ask for a digital proof and a labelled pen sample.
My buying call would be to settle cap clearance and seam position first. A perfect printed roll is not useful if the cap catches its leading edge.
