Fit the straight pump-bottle panel

The usable label height starts below the rounded shoulder and stops above the base curve. Measure that zone on the chosen bottle with the pump assembled. A label that looks centered on an empty bottle can look too high once the pump head is turned to its retail position.

Decide whether one wrap label or separate front and back labels will be applied. The pictured design uses a wrap on a straight-sided bottle; it does not climb the shoulder or cover the pump neck. Check the side seam and the grip point where a wet hand will lift it.

Separate visual category cues from product claims

The paw and botanical drawing are original decorative cues. They do not say a formula is natural, safe, suitable for a species, or effective against a condition. If a brand wants any of those claims, its own product and compliance teams need to substantiate and approve them before artwork lock.

For a real SKU, the responsible team must supply directions, ingredients, warnings, market-specific identification and any other required text. Do not fill the back label with plausible-sounding words from a generated image. I would leave the copy block as a controlled field until the approved text arrives.

Proof for bathroom-style handling

Repeated pumping can put moisture and product on the bottle wall. Compare face material, adhesive and protective finish as a construction, then handle a printed sample on the filled container. Avery Dennison’s home and personal-care material overview shows available label families, but it cannot certify a particular pet shampoo formula or package.

If the bottle is clear, check the reverse view through the liquid. If it is amber or opaque, check contrast and whether the label edge disappears against the bottle. A digital proof is useful for copy; it is not a wet-hand test.

Brief the printer with the exact pack

Provide the pump bottle photo and physical sample, front and back panel sizes, approved claims and copy, artwork versions, quantities, and whether labels will be applied by hand or machine. For a machine, send core, gap, roll direction and maximum diameter.

Our wash care label collection and waterproof bottle-label checklist cover related material choices. The best first proof is one that the brand can actually approve and the packing line can actually apply.
