Label the closed box, check the open one
Assemble the actual carton and mark a flat front area that remains undisturbed when the lid opens. Keep the adhesive label clear of hinges, tabs and side folds. Then open the box and check the insert: its brush cavities and protection should not force the front panel to bow.
The illustration uses a broad label on the flat lid. A different box style could need another dieline. Avery Dennison's paper-and-cardboard guidance
Make the item count an artwork field
The front says “Makeup Brush Set” and “5 Pieces” and shows five different brush silhouettes. A retailer may sell three- and seven-brush variants in similar boxes. Keep the count in a controlled field linked to the pack list, not a casual line in a reused design.
I would place the printed front beside an opened production-style kit. If the icon count, written count and actual contents disagree, stop the artwork. The picture is a visual illustration, not evidence that a real packing line checked every box.
Proof contrast on the finished board
A plum carton and ivory label can look clean on screen yet show a different border after printing, coating and application. Request a physical label on the selected board, then inspect from the front and at the folds. If the lid is handled repeatedly, include that opening motion in the sample review.
This outer pack does not need every brush handle to carry the full set story. The small MORA marks on the illustrated handles are secondary decoration; the carton front should identify the set quickly.
Quote the box and insert together
Send the assembled box, flat dieline, board finish, insert layout, verified brush count, approved front and back copy, versions, quantities and application method. Ask for a digital proof and one complete labelled kit sample.
I would not pay for a finish upgrade before confirming that the count and flap clearance are right. Our skincare kit guide
