Put the label on a stable front panel
Build the carton and close its flap before measuring. The label needs to sit on a flat uninterrupted panel, away from the lid hinge, tuck tab and edge where a packer presses. A sticker bridging a fold might act as a seal, but that is a different brief with a separate opening test.
The illustration shows one front label identifying the kit and Chestnut 5B. The physical carton might have coating or texture that changes print and adhesion. Avery Dennison's cardboard-label guidance
Control shade on every component
The carton shade, colour tube and developer bottle have different label areas. Keep the approved shade code and lot-identification workflow aligned across the kit, while giving each component its own correctly sized artwork. The illustrated packaging uses a tube-and-bottle icon to show what is inside; it does not replace an actual contents or usage panel.
I would ask for a version sheet listing each shade, front-label file, component files and quantities. That small piece of paperwork is less glamorous than a glossy swatch, but it is what stops a Chestnut carton being packed with another shade tube.
Leave room for responsible copy review
Hair colour instructions and warnings require the brand's responsible team to approve the wording for each market. A printer should not invent directions, test claims or compliance statements from a visual mockup. If the approved copy exceeds the available label area, revise the panel or use an approved insert instead of reducing type until it is unreadable.
Proof both a closed shelf view and the open kit. The front colour swatch is a navigation aid, not evidence of the result on hair. A printed sample beside the real formulation reference is more useful than a screen render alone.
Request a complete kit quotation
Send the assembled carton, flat dieline, board finish, front-label size, component samples, approved copy, shade matrix, quantities per version and packing sequence. State whether the labels will be hand or machine applied. Ask for a digital proof of each shade and an applied sample on the final carton.
I would accept fewer decorative effects before accepting an ambiguous shade code. Our travel-kit box guide
