Find a straight sidewall below the lid

Measure the area below any lid overhang and above the base curve. A frosted jar can have a visually flat front and a slightly curved shoulder that makes a large label lift at the top. Place a paper template on both actual vessels and check the side seam as the jar turns.

The image uses applied pressure-sensitive labels with visible edges, not direct screen print. If the buyer really wants a nearly invisible mark, compare clear film and white-ink options separately; a frosted surface will change the visual result. Our candle finish guide

Design the light and dark jar as one family

Cedar on pale ivory gets dark text; Amber on smoke glass gets a dark panel with copper and cream type. The layout remains consistent, but contrast is adjusted for each substrate. I would print both scent names at their intended size and place them on the real jars before deciding that one artwork file can serve the whole range.

The small scent-note words in the illustration are invented design copy, not product information. A live brand must approve the actual scent names, notes and any claims before production. Do not let mockup text become a specification by accident.

Evaluate adhesion and appearance on the final frost

A frosted finish can come from different manufacturing processes and may present a surface unlike polished glass. Ask the supplier to test the chosen face stock and adhesive on the actual finished vessel. Avery Dennison’s adhesive glossary

Also agree on handling: wiping, storage, gifting and whether a customer expects to remove the label later. A removable construction and a permanent construction answer different briefs. Neither should be selected by appearance alone.

Keep decorative art and safety copy distinct

The front scent label is not the whole information system. The responsible brand must approve market-specific safety and product text, which may need a separate readable panel. Our candle information-label guide

Send both frosted vessels, final dimensions, approved scent art and copy, quantities, any bottom-label needs, and the application method. Ask for a physical sample on each finish. The image can sell a mood; the applied sample has to settle the order.
