Treat the design as a family, then adapt it to the material rather than stretching one file across every format.
Give category cues a clear job
A simple dishwasher-place-setting icon, tablet illustration and sparkle motif can explain the product quickly. Original generic icons are useful when they support recognition, especially in a multilingual or wholesale setting. Pair them with a stable color system and a real information structure, not a collage of symbols competing for attention.
Keep the variant path simple
Fragrance, tablet type and pack quantity can create a dense shelf quickly. Keep the core design stable, then give each variant one obvious differentiator. A color strip, tablet icon or small accent graphic can do more than a fresh layout for every SKU. Packaging teams usually regret complexity when it arrives at proofing time.
Match material to the package surface
Pouches, coated cartons and refill packs all accept labels differently. Consider the substrate, surface energy, storage, transport and application method when choosing material and adhesive. A label that looks right on a plain board sample may behave differently on a flexible, filled pouch.
Separate required copy from gift-facing design
Use back or side panels for directions and other market-specific required content, verified by the responsible team. Keep the front focused on recognition. The goal is not to hide information; it is to give each piece of information a credible place.
