Measure the bottle after the brush cap is fitted

Set the bottle upright and mark the shoulder, base radius and the point where fingers grip the cap. The usable label panel lies between those boundaries. A flat artwork rectangle can look generous until the brush-cap skirt hides its first line. Send the actual filled-bottle dimensions or a physical sample, not just a nominal capacity.

For a narrow cylinder, wrap a paper strip around the glass and mark the overlap. I would keep the brand, product identity and original nail icon on the front, then reserve a separate approved information area rather than forcing every field into tiny front text. The nail-polish bottle guide shows a related shape, but its artwork should not be copied onto this oil bottle without a new dieline.

Treat curved-glass edges as a proofing decision

The image uses a pressure-sensitive label on a cylindrical glass wall. Avery Dennison notes that edge lifting can occur on curved surfaces; that is a reason to test the specific construction, not a prediction that this pack will fail. Ask for a short applied sample and inspect the vertical seam after normal handling.

Clear oil behind glass can change the apparent contrast of a light label. If a transparent film is being considered, proof it on a filled bottle and compare it with an opaque label. Film materials can support curved packaging, but the chosen face stock, adhesive and finish must be confirmed on this exact surface.

Keep product claims and artwork versions controlled

The illustrative MERA label contains only an invented brand, product name and a decorative icon. It is not approved ingredient, usage or market copy. The brand owner should supply and sign off the actual mandatory information for each intended market. I would separate that approval from a print supplier's visual proof so nobody mistakes a pretty mockup for compliance review.

If several oils share a bottle, define one master panel and a clear variant field. Give each version a unique file name and quantity. Small labels are especially vulnerable to a colour or scent variant being missed when filenames differ only at the end.

Send the complete quote brief

Provide bottle diameter, straight-wall height, cap clearance, label width and height, approved front and back copy, quantity per version, application method and expected handling. If machine applied, include roll direction, core and gap. Ask for a digital proof and a labelled bottle sample before bulk print.

My decision would be simple: preserve legibility and an edge that stays flat on the real bottle before paying for a decorative finish. Our artwork proof checklist covers the file handoff.
