Use the tube wall, not the overall tube height
Measure the flat area between cap shoulder and top crimp on the actual supplied tube. A label that crosses either transition can wrinkle or lift. Leave a workable gap at the side seam and check whether fingers repeatedly press the same printed area.
The pictured tubes use separate front labels rather than a full-body shrink sleeve. That distinction affects the dieline and quote. Request a sample on the production tube, not a similar tube from a catalogue. Our facial cleanser tube guide covers the broader tube geometry problem.
Make shade words do more than the colour swatch
Light, Medium and Deep are obvious in the NOVA illustration because each tube repeats the same word position and brushstroke device. A live shade system may need more precise names or numbers supplied by the brand. Colour alone can drift in print and looks different on differently coloured tube stock.
I would proof all shade variants side by side, then inspect them on the actual tube under the light where they will be packed or displayed. The business decision is not whether one label looks attractive. It is whether the range can be picked, packed and reordered without mixing artwork versions.
Specify a construction for squeezing
A rigid-looking face material can behave differently when the tube flexes. Avery Dennison describes conformable films intended for demanding bottle shapes and tubes; the exact face stock, adhesive and finish still need an applied sample on your tube. Ask the supplier to evaluate edge lift and print appearance after the handling your pack will receive.
If the tubes are filled after labelling, also confirm the order of operations. A crimp, filling station or tray can rub a label placed too close to the top. Do not infer production compatibility from the generated photograph.
Quote each shade as a separate artwork
Send the tube drawing, real tube samples, front-label dimensions, approved copy, shade names, colour targets, quantity per shade, and roll or sheet preference. If automatic application is planned, include the applicator’s core, gap and unwind requirements.
Ask for a digital proof of every variant and an applied sample before bulk print. Our cosmetic colour-matching guide helps organize that review. I would rather delay one shade proof than discover that the cap covers the only legible shade name.
