Start with the clamshell's real front face
Clamshell packs have molded edges, hanging tabs and internal wax cavities that can change how a front label reads. Measure the flat central panel and leave space from curves and hinges. A label that reaches too close to the molded edge may look less deliberate once the pack catches light.
Use a stable scent collection system
A flame icon, botanical motif and one controlled color band can create recognition without a copied brand device. Keep the logo area, scent position and information zone stable across variants. Change the scent cue and color deliberately. If every fragrance gets a new template, you will spend proofing time explaining a range that should explain itself.
Let the wax color support, not replace, the label
Colored wax is a strong visual ingredient, especially in transparent packaging. It can make pale labels look softer and dark labels look heavier. View a proof against the real wax color rather than choosing the label in isolation. A color that looks perfect on white paper may disappear once it sits over a bright melt.
Choose materials for the packaging surface
Clear plastic clamshells, coated board sleeves and mixed gift packs each call for different material and adhesive considerations. Discuss the package substrate, stored temperature, label size and handling process before the final material is selected.
Reserve a credible area for required details
Safety information, net content, batch fields and market-specific content should be reviewed by the responsible team. A back panel or separate information label can carry that work while the front label remains clear and gift-friendly.
