Count the cups and measure the carton
The illustrated cartons hold four unlit tealights each in a two-by-two arrangement. That count needs to match the actual retail pack, artwork and order brief. Measure the assembled carton, window, opening flap and fold lines; the flat front dimensions alone are not enough if a label crosses the lid or a crease.
A printed sleeve can carry a wide scent graphic. An adhesive label on the flat front can be easier for smaller variant runs. They are not interchangeable in packing: one slides or folds around the carton, the other needs accurate placement. Quote the applied work and test both on the filled pack.
Let scent artwork guide, not certify
The two example bands keep the invented NEST name and “Tealights” in the same places. Amber and Pine use distinct original leaf and conifer motifs. Those motifs help shoppers find a variant; they are not safety icons, ingredient declarations or proof of a particular fragrance composition. The brand team should approve every real product statement.
The National Candle Association's labeling explainer describes candle cautionary labeling and the relevant ASTM standard. That makes a separately approved safety label or tag an important part of the real packaging plan. Do not improvise warning symbols inside a decorative front band. Confirm what information is needed for the destination market and how it remains with the product.
Inspect a packed sample, not an empty box
Place four actual tealights inside and close the carton. Does the band stay flat? Can a shopper still see the cups? Can staff open the pack without cutting through the label? If the band hides a latch or makes the window look smaller than intended, reduce its height or move it. A nice isolated label proof cannot answer any of those questions.
For a seasonal range, variant names and carton dimensions may change together. Keep a record of which dieline belongs to which four-pack and which safety copy has been approved. A case of labels that fit last year's carton is not useful just because the scent colour matches.
A clear request for quotation
Provide filled four-pack samples, carton dieline, window and flap positions, all scent artwork, quantities per scent, application method and approved safety information. Ask for a digital proof and a physical assembled pack. Our candle label range and candle warning label guide can help frame the brief. The strongest front is one that leaves enough of the product visible to speak for itself.
