Find the truly flat part of the clamshell

The illustrated rose and sand packs have raised clear domes and flat lower-front zones. A label should stay on that flatter area. Do not bridge the hinge, sealing flange or hang slot simply to gain a few millimetres of print space. Ask for a formed empty clamshell and a filled one; the finished pack may bulge differently.

I would mark three areas on the sample: safe label zone, visible sponge area and opening path. A front label that looks balanced before filling can hide the sponge's narrow tip once the insert shifts. A quick physical mockup is cheaper than discovering that after a full roll has been printed.

Keep variants clear without inventing benefits

The two example labels share the invented FORM name, “Makeup Sponge” product identity and a small sponge silhouette. Rose and Sand change colour and name, not the entire layout. That gives a buyer a fast variant cue. A decorative dot pattern is not a reason to add an unsupported “flawless,” “latex-free” or other performance claim; any such statement would need the responsible seller's substantiation and approval.

If the final pack needs a barcode, origin or other market-specific information, decide whether it belongs on the back or on an insert. Do not use microtype as a substitute for a sensible packaging surface. The label buying guide can help capture every artwork version before ordering.

Quote label, card and sleeve as real alternatives

An adhesive front label can work for short variant runs, provided the chosen construction adheres to the exact plastic and handles the pack's storage conditions. An internal card offers more printable area, but must be inserted during packing. A sleeve may look polished yet adds folding and assembly. Compare total applied cost and packing time, not only print price.

Avery Dennison's home and personal-care material overview shows that pressure-sensitive constructions differ by container and format. It does not certify a particular adhesive for this formed clamshell. Ask for a sample on the actual plastic and inspect it after normal handling.

What the printer needs

Send the formed pack, filled pack, flat-zone drawing, hang-hole position, approved copy, barcode file if used, variant list, quantities per design and application method. Ask for a die-cut sample on the closed pack. If the lower label edge lifts when someone opens it, the issue is not the logo; the dieline is wrong.
