Measure the bottle below the trigger
Request the exact filled bottle and trigger assembly. Some bottle faces look flat from the front yet curve sharply near the shoulders. Mark the usable panel, grip indentation, seam and the point where fingers sit when spraying. Measure with the trigger fitted; the upper label edge should not disappear under it.
The illustrated FOLD Linen and Cotton labels use the same hierarchy and different colours. An original folded-fabric icon supports navigation without pretending to prove a benefit. A product may need directions and other market-specific text, but those words must come from the responsible brand team. Do not make them up to complete a mockup.
Test material against the way the pack is handled
Moisture, handling and the bottle surface all matter. Film face stock may be worth comparing with paper, but neither is a universal answer. Avery Dennison's home and personal-care materials overview covers multiple formats and constructions; a final choice still needs an application and use-condition trial.
Ask for labels on the filled bottle. Spray it as a buyer would, wipe drips off the shoulder, hold it with damp hands, then inspect print and edges. Agree on a test method and pass criteria with the supplier before ordering. This is more useful than a generic “waterproof” claim on a quotation.
Let variant art help the packing team
If both variants use one bottle colour, colour-coded labels and legible names reduce confusion during packing. Keep the barcode and version identifiers in the approved layout rather than changing them casually between art files. The front label can be deliberately simple while a back label carries approved instructions; the second label adds application work and should be quoted.
For a hypothetical pair of variants at 700 bottles each, state two designs at 700 labels each, plus any back designs. If the applicator requires rolls, send core, gap, winding direction and maximum roll diameter after checking the machine, not from memory.
The brief I would send
Send a filled bottle, trigger drawing, usable-panel measurements, approved front and back copy, artwork files, variant counts and application method. Request a digital proof and at least one physical sample on the real bottle. Our wash care label range shows related pack formats; the label buying guide helps complete a quote. A spray bottle earns a clear front before it earns a clever finish.
