Map the usable panel first

Measure the front face below the handle opening and away from the shoulder transition. Mark any recessed panel edge, mould seam and curved base. The illustrated labels stay within that front area; neither tries to cover the grip. If an applicator will place the label, request its placement tolerance so art and die line leave a realistic margin.

Look at a filled jug from arm's length. “Carpet Shampoo” should remain the largest functional phrase. The product category should not be hidden by a decorative carpet texture. On a hypothetical two-variant shelf, Original and Citrus should be readable without picking up both jugs.

Make the variant system useful to production

The sample WEAVE labels share a weave motif and product-name position. A navy or orange field identifies the variant. That simple division also helps the packing team notice a wrong label roll. Keep approved artwork codes and barcodes linked to each variant; do not rely on colour alone to manage a production change.

The illustration deliberately makes no cleaning-performance promise. If the real product is sold with directions, hazard information or claims, the responsible brand and compliance team must approve that wording for the actual market. A label maker should not invent a safety icon or copy a competitor's panel.

Test the applied label where the jug is used

Ask the converter to propose face stock, adhesive, print and protective finish as one construction. The jug may be gripped with wet hands or exposed to drips; a sample on the actual filled plastic is more informative than a material name alone. Avery Dennison's pressure-sensitive adhesive overview advises testing printed labels under actual conditions of use. That is a test plan, not proof that this WEAVE illustration passes anything.

Check edge lift near the handle, scuffing during case packing and readability after the jug is tilted. Agree on acceptance criteria before the order. If the jug shape makes a single large label difficult to apply, compare a smaller front label plus a back information label. The extra application step belongs in the quotation.

Quote from a finished pack

Send an empty and filled jug, flat-panel dimensions, approved front/back text, variant list, quantities per variant, barcode files and label-application method. Request one labelled physical sample of each design. The wash care label collection and label size guide can help complete the brief. A handle is not blank canvas, however much the first render wants it to be.
