Measure the stable label panel

Take the diameter and straight-side height from the filled bottle, then note the pump collar, shoulder curve and any molding seam. A tall proof can be technically in bounds yet look crowded once the pump and bottle taper frame it.

Build a lotion range with one visual rulebook

Keep the brand area, product type and main graphic position stable across body lotion, hand cream and refill sizes. Controlled color bands, leaf marks or ingredient illustrations can distinguish variants without turning every SKU into a separate identity.

Give graphic icons a real job

A botanical sprig, droplet or abstract texture can make a label feel complete without borrowing a known brand. Pair it with a clear product hierarchy and restrained information zones. Minimal does not mean empty; it means each element has a reason to be there.

Choose material for handling and finish

Pump bottles are handled with moisturized or wet hands and may stand in warm bathrooms. Film labels are commonly considered for durability, while matte and gloss finishes change glare and fingerprint visibility. Select construction around the bottle, product, storage and application method.

Plan the roll around the line

Confirm whether labels are applied by hand, semi-automatically or on a line. Artwork orientation, gap and unwind direction should follow that workflow. This is a small production decision that is expensive to guess after print.

Proof the real bottle, not only the file

Send a bottle sample or complete dimensions, artwork, finish preference and quantity. Check front alignment, pump clearance and copy at real size. For another cosmetic pump format, see our hand sanitizer bottle label guide.
