Choose the package before the label
In the illustrated CALM range, each sphere sits in clear fitted film and the printed paper band goes around that wrapped pack. It is not an adhesive sticker placed on crumbly powder. Another brand might use a tuck box or a sealed pouch. Those alternatives have different label zones, cost and packing motions.
Ask the packer to show an empty and a finished unit. Measure the actual circumference at the intended band position and the overlap needed for closure. If the wrap changes shape from batch to batch, trial a few units before fixing the dieline. A flat design file cannot tell you how the band will sit over a film seam.
Give each variant a fast visual identity
Citrus and Lavender share a brand and product-name position; colour and original botanical art distinguish them. That makes sense for a small range. But an orange slice is only a design motif until the brand has approved what the product contains and how it can be described. Avoid invented ingredients, therapeutic claims and badges that imply certification.
For a US cosmetic product, the FDA cosmetics labeling guide is a starting point for required information and claim review. Product classification and required wording depend on the formula, intended use and market. The label supplier should print approved content, not decide those legal questions from a mood board.
Decide whether it is a band, label or both
A removable paper belly band can carry a strong front design, but it needs a closure plan. An adhesive end tab may need a different construction from the visible face. A pressure-sensitive label applied to a pouch or carton may be simpler on an existing packing line. Quote the full process, including folding and application time, rather than comparing only the printed pieces.
If the product is stored in a damp room or handled with wet hands, request a material and finish sample. Do not advertise the construction as waterproof based on its appearance. Ask for a rub and handling check on the actual wrapped product. The custom label buying guide lists the details that make this discussion productive.
Send a useful order brief
Provide the wrapped unit, band position, finished circumference, closure preference, artwork count, quantities per variant, approved information and packing method. One Citrus design and one Lavender design are two artworks, even if they share a dieline. After a sample is assembled, look at the back overlap as closely as the front illustration. That quiet join is where a rushed band shows its age.
